From Sweden to Palm Springs: Lighting the Fuse for a BOLD HR Revolution
Johanna and I have just stepped off the stage at PeopleVision 2025, Ezra’s electrifying event in Palm Springs, and what an experience it was. Set against the backdrop of a world of work in constant flux, we joined a lineup of incredible speakers – including leadership expert Simon Sinek, Ezra CEO Nick Goldberg, and Sinéad Keenan, Ezra’s Chief Innovation Officer – to challenge, inspire, and completely reimagine the future of HR.
At the heart of this event was a shared mission: to equip People Teams for the revolution ahead. Priorities are shifting under our feet, AI is rewriting the rules, and People Teams are caught in the middle – supporting employees while delivering results for organisations. As we said on stage, “Bold leadership isn’t about knowing all the answers; it’s about daring to ask the right questions, even when the stakes are high.”
Sharing the journey of BOLD: A New Era of Strategic HR felt like the perfect match for this moment. Since its Swedish release, BOLD has been helping HR leaders (and all types of executives) embrace a human-centric yet results-driven mindset – one that balances people-powered strategies with the endless possibilities of AI-enabled tools. During our talk, we explored the messy, real-life middle ground where bold leadership lives: navigating uncertainty, making courageous decisions, and creating workplaces that thrive.
We also reflected on the incredible milestones along the way, from the first spark of BOLD in Sweden to the English launch in London in December 2024, where it became clear that BOLD is more than a book – it’s a call to action. It’s about saying goodbye to checkbox HR and hello to bold, human-first approaches that drive real, measurable business impact.
The audience? Pure dynamite. Engaging with 30 Fortune 100 People Executives and other thought leaders was inspiring. The questions, the hallway chats, the genuine hunger to redefine the future of work – it was everything we hoped for and more. And the other speakers set the stage on fire, with Simon Sinek challenging us to lead with vision and courage, Nick Goldberg showcasing Ezra’s pioneering work in people-powered development, and Sinéad Keenan offering groundbreaking insights on innovation in HR. Together, they made it clear: this isn’t just a conversation – it’s a revolution.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without highlighting the mission behind BOLD: All royalties from the English and the Swedish edition go directly to Min Stora Dag, a Swedish nonprofit creating life-changing experiences for children with critical illnesses. Because being bold isn’t just about ideas – it’s about action.
Palm Springs gave us the sunshine, Ezra gave us the stage, and PeopleVision 2025 gave us a community of like-minded changemakers ready to challenge the status quo. Whether you’ve been with us since our first blog post or from the first Swedish book release, joined us at the London launch, or heard us for the first time today, the journey with BOLD is just beginning.
This isn’t about surviving the future of work – it’s about owning it. So here’s to being daring and leading boldly. The revolution starts now.
